Under the Indigo Moon is a short film directed by Natasha Khan and produced by Neil Krug for YMC, a British brand that Khan teamed up with for an exclusive capsule collection. It was released on 23 May 2014. It is soundtracked by an unreleased track of the same name from Khan and Beck.[1]
With this short, Khan wanted "to explore a trashy, playful, US motel aesthetic, like Patricia Arquette in True Romance."[1]
Production[]
The short film was shot on 16mm in LA with former Devendra Banhart drummer Gregory Rogove and features clothing from Khan's YMC clothing line.[1]
Soundtrack[]
The short’s soundtrack was created over an afternoon in a Cali studio with Beck in 2011, dating back to The Haunted Man recording sessions.
“I have loved Beck for years. We started working together about three years ago; I stayed with him for three weeks, and we jammed out and generated a lot of material. He’s got loads of weird dulcimers, amazing drum machines and really obscure instruments that make wonderful sounds.”[1]
