"Sunday Love" is the fourth track on Bat For Lashes' conceptual fourth album, The Bride. It was released as the third single off the album on 27 May 2016.
Background[]
Within The Bride's story, it's the moment where she "flees from the church, she’s on her car, she’s driving, and she’s being pursued by the ghost of grief."[1]
“This character ‘Sunday Love’ is turning up in her bed like everywhere she goes, she’s like this cold grip,” Khan explains. “Like, you know when something really bad happens? And you wake up the next morning and then you feel OK and then you remember what happened? It’s almost like trauma on your tail.”[2]
The album's novella describes the moment where she leaves the altar, running past the seated guests down the aisle. She spots the honeymoon car across the pavement, gets in and fires the engine.

Lyrics[]
See her in blue eyes
Numb and shining
In the face of strangers
In the city lights
Grey is climbing
Cupid’s diving
And I know that she's come
To spend the night
I see her in every place I go
Sunday love is so cold
Even though I’m falling apart
I want Sunday love in my heart
See her in blue eyes
Still and shining
In lonely lovers
On bed sheets white
Grey shapes sliding
I've been pining
She's in my bedroom
Now I can't fight
I see her in every place I go
Sunday love is so cold
Even though I’m falling apart
I want Sunday love in my heart
I see her in every place I go
Sunday love is so cold
Even though I’m falling apart
I want Sunday love in my heart
I see her in every place I go
Sunday love is so cold
Even though I’m falling apart
I want Sunday love in my heart
