"Strangelove" is a song originally by Depeche Mode covered by Bat For Lashes for a Gucci Guilty for Men campaign. The cover song was made available for free on Gucci's Facebook page.
"Natasha’s voice is bewitching and her music is dark yet fascinating."
When interviewed by a Australian website prior to her performance at the Sydney Opera House in 2011, Natasha discussed how the collaboration with Gucci came along:
The Gucci thing obviously was really interesting coz I got to just spend a couple of days in the studio, completely reforming and retranslating this Depeche Mode song. I’ve done it with The Cure, ‘A Forest’ before and I just sort of like to take it as a bit of a challenge to do covers in my own way and I find that quite inspiring sometimes.
In the studio Christopher and I just sort of starting playing around with piano chords and weird old instruments… just seeing whether [the song for Gucci] had any legs, basically. Sometimes I’ll know straight away if it’s not going to work but this time I sort of quite enjoyed singing it and then we really got into it and I was quite proud of the song so, in the end I was happy for them to use it. I think it’s good to keep somehow involved in what’s going on even while I’m holed away, hibernating (laughs) you know just to keep the cogs turning slightly so I don’t get too rusty…
